Torrefaction is the process of carbonizing densified woody biomass to create a hydrophobic, readily grindable product with a high heating value and low dust release. The Torrefaction project introduces a high quality energy product to the renewable energy sector that replaces coal and other fossil fuels to help reduce the effects of climate change and improve air quality by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This project is currently under development.
